GET ON CAMERA is a 12-week, camera-driven character lab where you’ll work with scene partners in our professional studio, using scripts and material tailored to fit you.
Limited to just 8 actors, the course explores repeatable character territory. A ‘character type’ here means a recognisable casting proposition, not a stereotype. We’re not interested in putting you in a box. The aim is to understand where you naturally fit, what you already bring to the screen and then explore, challenge and expand those possibilities on camera.
Across the 12 weeks, you’ll discover and develop four distinctive character types, testing them on camera to see what works, what fits and where your casting can expand.
The aim is for you to leave knowing:
‘These are four versions of me that casting professionals could immediately understand and cast.’
Two of those character types will be selected and professionally recorded as industry-quality reel scenes in the Get Taped studio.

I trained as an actor at Drama Centre London. After completing my training, I then had the task of asking, ‘how do I get into the industry?’I was talented. I could act. But when I started meeting agents, they told me they didn’t know where to ‘put me’. Where would I ‘fit’? I’d never heard any of this. This wasn’t in my course. I thought it was automatic. You trained, and then you just got offered work somehow, right?
What followed was years of floundering, putting on shows, showcases, writing to agents and casting directors and dealing with rejection. But no one had told me what ‘fit’ was, or what ‘where to put me’ actually meant. Someone needed to say it.
That word was, and still is, TYPE.
I began to understand the importance of knowing your type, your archetype and where you fit within a story.
Knowing and using that information about yourself as an actor is essential, especially when seeking representation and work.
I’ve now been coaching actors for over 15 years. My approach isn’t about putting actors into boxes. It’s about understanding how you show up, how others see you and the character types you can convincingly inhabit, then using the camera to test, develop and expand them.
My upcoming and recent screen credits include Slow Horses (Apple TV), Heads of State (Amazon Prime) and The Diplomat (Netflix). Other television credits include EastEnders, Casualty (BBC) and Shameless (Channel 4). I’ve also worked with leading theatre companies including the National Theatre, Shakespeare’s Globe and Frantic Assembly.
